The Vision and the Offering
Resolution without Litigation, Inc. was founded by peace loving attorneys to offer individuals, couples, small businesses, clubs, churches and similar entities pro bono services to help avoid conflicts and settle existing conflicts without entering into litigation or divorce proceedings. We also provide business model and relationship development.
Resolving Existing Conflicts
Conflicts always arise when people are working together no matter how understanding and patient the people are. When conflicts occur it is important to know how to resolve the conflict without destroying the relationship. Once the conflict is resolved, it is important to make an agreement that will define the procedure that will be used the next time there is a change in circumstances or a new conflict arises. We suggest following the plan set forth in Getting to Resolution by Stewart Levine. Resolution without Litigation, Inc. can help you resolve existing conflicts and decide how future conflicts will be peacefully handled.
Entering Into New Relationships
Whether you are planning a new business or personal relationship Resolution without Litigation, Inc. can help you develop a written blueprint that will honor the intents and needs of all parties, clarify the role and promises of each party, develop measurements that will allow each participant to know if everyone is fulfilling their commitments, make a plan for modifying the agreement when circumstances change, and resolving the inevitable conflicts that will arise in the future. We suggest following the procedures described in The Book of Agreement by Stewart Levine.
Solving Complex Business Problem Solutions
If your organization has a real complex problem that nobody knows how to solve, many diverse viewpoints must be satisfied by the solution, there is a high level of conflict and passion in the organization about the problem, and the solution was needed yesterday, Resolution without Litigation, Inc. will help you develop a plan for solving the problem. We suggest conducting an Open Space Technology meeting. Open Space Technology can be used for organizations ranging in size from 20 people to 2,000 people. This way of ensuring that all concerns to everyone have been raised, that every issue has been discussed, that priorities are set, and action plans made is described in Open Space Technology by Harrison Owen.
Improving Enterprise-Wide Communications
Many problems can be avoided just by providing an opportunity for everyone to hear everyone else’s point of view and being sure that your own point of view has been heard by everyone. There are a number of ways to improve communication. An approach based on the communication effectiveness of the coffee break is described in The World Café by Juanita Brown and David Isaacs. The World Café approach can be used with groups from 3 or 4 up to as many as 400. Resolution without Litigation, Inc. can help you plan and conduct World Café meetings
Another popular communication device is the Circle. Circles are based on the ancient practice of early humans sitting around a campfire to discuss issues and make plans and agreements. Circle practice is described in The Circle Way by Christiana Baldwin and Ann Linnea. Circles are in wide use in such diverse situations as regular group meetings, a series of circle meetings to address personal or community issues, and handling community crime problems from the misdemeanor level to major felonies. Resolution without Litigation, Inc. can help you plan and conduct Circle meetings.
